Police have arrested a 39-year-old man after finding firearms and drugs inside his Port aux Basques home.
In the early morning hours of April 28, RCMP officers and police dogs raided the Pleasant Street home of Richard Ingram with a warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Officers found a handgun, two shot guns, ammunition and a taser, as well as cocaine, methamphetamine, $9,000 in cash and other evidence consistent with drug trafficking.
Ingram is facing charges for
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
- Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine)
- Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)
- Careless use/storage of a firearm/ammunition – seven counts
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm – four counts
- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized – four counts
- Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition
He was released to attend court at a later date.
