A rally is scheduled for next week outside Frank Roberts Junior High in Foxtrap to protest and bring greater attention to conditions in the school.
The building dates to the 1960s and Conception Bay South MHA Barry Petten says it is overcrowded and infested with rats.

Protest organizer Jenine Murphy says the school is in deplorable condition.
She claims there is surface mould on the ceiling from a leak that “has yet to be fixed.” “It’s not an environment kids should be in.”
Murphy says her daughter has seen rats at the school, and buckets are used to catch leaks from the roof. Parents have requested air quality testing at the school.
“As far as we know, they haven’t been done since 2009.”
The protest is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. next Thursday, May 18 outside the junior high.
