Little pieces of Newfoundland and Labrador will be on display in Toronto starting next week as Little Canada launches a new display.
Little Canada has been named as Ontario’s 2022 Top Attraction of the Year and it’s collection is getting bigger.
This year the east coast display will showcase some familiar landscapes including Signal Hill, L’Anse Aux Meadows and Gros Morne National Park.
Senior Animations Specialist with Little Canada, Brad Parsons, who has deep Newfoundland roots and is very familiar with the province, was part of the team that helped to plan the east coast miniature landscapes.
He says the display goes beyond static models.
That includes a 15 minute day/night cycle that includes lights, moving traffic and boats, and even sounds from the area.
Parsons, who spent a lot of time as a child helping out in his grandparents’ store on New Gower Street in St. John’s, says he’s thrilled to see familiar settings as part of the display.
They include, Gros Morne, L’Anse aux Meadows, Signal Hill, St. John’s Harbour and the city’s downtown, as well as Nunatsiavut.
Little Canada’s east coast display opens with a Little East Coast Kitchen Party June 2 in Toronto.
