If you’ve ever wanted to try the sport of rugby, June 10 is your opportunity.
Saturday, June 10 is Rugby Day in Corner Brook.
The fun-filled day is for all ages and skill-levels to come out, try, and learn the game. There will be prizes, nutrition breaks and a barbecue, capped off with a fun, safe and friendly game of non-contact flag rugby.
Richard Tingskou, event coordinator, says it’ll be a jam-packed day.
After the clinics, there will be a women’s sevens exhibition game followed by a senior men’s Rugby Union fifteen game between the West Coast Wanderer Selects and Swilers, the first rugby match in Corner Brook in 30 years, says Tingskou.

Rugby is a developing sport on the west coast, and a day like June 10, according to Tingskou, is going to be a great opportunity to help grow and extend the game.
Tingskou says you can feel the energy building.
He explains that rugby is a game about community, sportsmanship and fun, that can take you a lot of places.
Those interested are encouraged to register in advance, however, registration is free.
Tingskou says they would like to thank the Participaction Community Challenge Grant and the federal government for their sponsorship and making the event possible.
