A man who was known to police and who was wanted on outstanding warrants tried to make a break for it overnight when confronted.

After a brief foot chase in the downtown area, the RNC caught up with the 28-year-old.

He was taken to the lockup and charged with resisting arrest as well as offences outlined in the warrants.
