Newfoundland and Labrador is taking home some hardware at the Canada Wide Science Fair.

Science Team NL travelled to Edmonton for the first in-person fair since the pandemic, claiming four medals and three special awards.

Ryan Cullen of Holy Trinity claimed gold, while Gonzaga’s Tanish Bhatt, and St. Bon’s Sophia Zhang claimed a silver as well as a special award each. Alpita Patro from MacDonald Drive Junior High took home a bronze, while Emily Baker from Fitzgerald Academy in English Harbour West won the Sanofi Biogenius Award.

All medal winners also were offered entrance scholarships to various universities across the country.
