A 19-year-old man from Stephenville Crossing has been arrested and charged in connection with two recent commercial break-ins in the area.

Police responded to a report of a break-in at Karl’s Canteen in Stephenville Crossing around 2:00 Wednesday morning.

The suspect was located a short distance away and was taken into custody. Police say the subsequent investigation resulted in evidence linking the man to a break-in at Shea’s Pharmacy on Saturday.

The accused is facing charges of break and enter, possession of break-in instruments, theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.

The investigation continues.
