The front line and behind the scenes efforts of the province’s public sector were recognized on Friday with the annual Public Service Awards of Excellence.
Among those recognized were the team who worked during the busy days following the Hurricane Fiona Disaster on the province’s southwest coast last September.
Also recognized were the public service workers who were sent to Warsaw, Poland in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine to set up a Ukrainian help desk. The effort resulted in the arrival of more than a thousand Ukrainians to Newfoundland and Labrador.
