A man from the Southern Shore, arrested for breaching a court order, is now facing a slew of charges following a recent traffic stop in Bay Bulls.
Ryan Swain, who’s 28, was pulled over on the main highway in Bay Bulls on June 9. Ferryland RCMP arrested the man without incident, but seized a number of items from the vehicle he was driving including a loaded handgun, brass knuckles, a baseball bat, quantities of cocaine, cannabis, and prescription pills.
The drugs were valued at approximately $6,000 dollars.
The accused was remanded to custody pending a court appearance today on charges of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, three counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless transport of a firearm and breach of recognizance.
