The weather is hotter and people are starting to hit the highways for the summer, and the RNC are reminding people of pet vehicle safety as they head out.
RNC Constable James Cadigan reminds that when travelling with pets, people need to make sure that they are in an area of the vehicle that is secure, such as in a kennel.
He says it is important to make sure that the pet is not an obstruction.
Further to that, Cadigan says if people are heading to a place where their pet will have to be left unattended in a vehicle, it is best to just leave them home as the heat can be detrimental to their health.
