Police are warning of a suspicious man asking children for sex in Carbonear.

Harbour Grace RCMP say that on July 3, a man driving a grey van approached two young girls and asked them if they wanted to have sex. The girls ran away and told their parents of the incident. Police searched the area but could not locate the man.

The man is described as being in his thirties with dark coloured skin and a moustache.

Police are asking anyone with surveillance footage in the area of Burden’s Hill in Carbonear between 7:45 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. on July 3 to contact them or Crime Stoppers. They also advise parents to speak to their children on what to do in such a scenario.
