The MHA for Torngat Mountains is calling for cost of living relief measures for her district.
NDP MHA Lela Evans says her residents are excluded from oil-to-electric incentives, and her district is being treated as an after-thought.
Evans says that due to the high cost of electricity in her district, residents are forced to rely on other sources of heat such as oil or wood, and with the new tax, the cost of stove oil is over two dollars per litre.
She’s calling om the provincial and federal governments to finalize the relief for residents.
