The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary were at the right place at the right time on Friday after a woman attempted to shoplift from a business in Mount Pearl.
While at the store for an unrelated matter, police caught the woman in the act of stealing.
The 34-year-old, who was known to police, was arrested for theft under $5,000 along with two outstanding warrants.
She spent the night in the lock-up awaiting a court appearance.
