Metro police were able to take a pair of impaired drivers off the road in the last 24 hours.
Just after 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning, RNC were tipped off about a suspected drunk driver in the Cabot Street area of St. John’s.
The driver of the vehicle, a 49-year-old man, blew nearly two times over the legal limit.
His license was suspended and his vehicle impounded. He was taken to the lock-up to sober up.
A few hours before that, police in the centre city pulled over a vehicle after receiving an impaired driver complaint.
The 29-year-old driver refused to comply with roadside drug testing and was arrested for refusal and breach of probation.
He’s been released to appear in court at a later date. His vehicle was impounded.
