The CEO of the Construction Safety Association is reminding drivers to be patient with flag persons as construction work is completed through the hot and humid summer days.
The last few days have been scorchers across the province, and there are many active construction zones for drivers to contend with.
Jackie Manuel reminds that the primary role of the workers is to keep drivers safe.

She says they hear about “the very best, and the very worst” situations happening.
In the winter they’ve heard of staff being given things such as coffee and mittens, but they’ve also heard of workers being verbally and physically assaulted.
Manuel’s message to drivers is simple.
“Pack a little bit of patience,” she says, noting that drivers can have a significant impact on a flag person’s life should one be injured.
