The Chair of St. John’s Pride says the local queer community has seen incredible support to combat rising hate.

Eddy St. Coeur says in the wake of hateful rhetoric directed towards 2SLGBTQIA+ people, the community has come together in support.

St. Coeur says many of the people leading the charge with these hateful messages, are just using it to make a name for themselves.

He says many of these people latch on to whatever divisive topic is out there such as the trucker convoy or COVID-19 vaccinations to further a political agenda. He says what they are quickly learning however, is that there is no space for hate in Newfoundland and Labrador.
