The provincial government is warning the public of a fraudulent and illegal website that is claiming to offer provincial driver’s licences.
The site, called canadianlicense.org, claims to offer licences in five business days for a fee.
The province reminds that a valid driver’s licence can only be obtained from a Motor Registration Office, and the illegal products would not be consistent with the high level security features on a Newfoundland and Labrador document.
They are reminding people never to share personal information on an unknown or unsecure website, and to take the time to make sure a website is legitimate .
Anyone with concerns or who receives a suspicious communication should contact police.
