Rick Mercer says it’s hard to find the words to describe what being given the province’s highest honour means to him.

Mercer will be invested into the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador this October along with six others.

He rose to prominence as one of the creators of This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and later went on to host the Rick Mercer Report.

Mercer says it is good to have career goals, but he never imagined he would receive the province’s top honour.

Mercer says of all the things he’s done in his life, he’s most proud of being a Newfoundlander. So to be given the Order is “beyond an honour.”
