The big finale to the pride festival in the capital city is taking place today.
The St. John’s Pride Parade begins at 1:00 p.m. outside city hall.
People will be marching to show support for the 2SLGBTQIAA+ community not just in St. John’s, but throughout the entire province.
The route will include a sensory safe zone on Duckworth Street between Church Hill and Cathedral Street.
As well, a bus ride along has been arranged to follow the parade to ensure all can participate.
The route ends at Bannerman Park, where the annual Pride in the Park event will take place. Musical performances, drag story time, games and more will be in the offing.
A number of road closures will be in place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
