The owner of a CBS property that was destroyed by fire Saturday night says the RNC and the town council were “well aware” that the home had become a “trap house.”
Jesse Cave told VOCM Open Line with Brian Callahan that he had rented the house to a friend, but the situation soon degenerated, leaving him with little to no recourse.
He claims he had sought help from the RNC and the town of CBS after handing out notices of eviction that were ignored.

He claims he had nothing to do with the trap house. “I rented the house out to the tenants, who were good friends of mine. I rented it out, and it all spiraled out of control. Me, as a landlord, I had no say in anything.”
He claims we was even assaulted on the property and the RNC asked him to leave. “I gave numerous evictions to the tenants, to no avail, and now on the weekend, my house is burned down.”
Now, Cave says his name is being dragged through the mud on social media.
Cave admits there was no electricity running to the home in question. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
