Doug Snelgrove has been granted bail while he waits for a decision by the Supreme Court of Canada on whether they will hear an appeal of his sexual assault conviction.
That ruling could take two to three months to come down.
Snelgrove was on duty with the RNC one night in 2014 when he sexually assaulted a woman in her residence after driving her home in his police car.
He was sentenced in 2021 to four years in jail for the assault. That came following three previous trials, in which the first two were thrown out due to errors by the judges.
