The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has charged a 39-year-old CBS man who they say was impaired, and travelling at well over double the speed limit before several crashes on Brookfield Road in St. John’s last April.
The incident happened shortly before 4:00 a.m. on April 26.
They say a red van hit multiple vehicles, before striking a house.
The driver was taken to the health sciences for treatment.
Police believe the man was impaired, and say he was traveling at 165 km/h in a 50 km/h zone at the time.
As a result, the man has been charged with impaired, as well as dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
The accused was released to appear in court at a later date.
