Defending national champions Holy Cross took another step towards an eighth provincial Jubilee Trophy championship last night with a 5-0 win over Paradise in the first of two semi-finals.
Regular season golden boot winner Jane Pope had two goals while Keisha Younge, Emily Bailey and Connie Lewis chipped in with one apiece. Shannon Galway recorded the shutout.
Feildians edged St. John’s 1-0 in a hotly-contested semi-final featuring the second and third place teams from the regular season. Stacy Hanlon had the lone marker for Feildians while all-star goalkeeper Sydney Walsh recorded the shutout.
Holy Cross and Feildians will meet in the championship match at noon Sunday at King George V in St. John’s.
The league also announced its all-star team and regular season awards last night.
