The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax has posted some remarkable images of a rescue that occurred off the province’s coast earlier this week.
On Monday, the crew of a 103 Search and Rescue Squadron Cormorant flew 380 km to rescue a person on a fishing boat who was in medical distress.
Video posted to social media shows the helicopter stopping to refuel at the Hibernia platform, before airlifting someone off the stern of a fishing vessel.
The patient was then flown to hospital in St. John’s.
