Today is the deadline to contribute to one of the main streams for back-to-school supplies designed to help those who need a hand up with the costs.
Block the Bus, in aid of the Single Parent Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, helps equip kids of single parents with items required for school.
The Village Shopping Centre set up bins a few weeks ago to accept donations.
Danielle Seward, Executive Director of the association, says parents from all across the island and Labrador have registered with them.
“Without Block the Bus and the support that comes in through that, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do to help people with back to school,” she says.
