The RCMP has apprehended Tony Farrell, a man who had been eluding the police for several weeks.
After an operation in the Ville Marie Drive area of Marystown this evening, the RCMP announced on its social media that the police activity in the town had concluded. Residents can now return to their normal activities.
Police had been in pursuit of Farrell since mid-July and had made multiple attempts to apprehend him in late July, with reports indicating he was armed. These operations included a lockdown in Swift Current on July 26th and police response in Goose Cove on the 27th.
Farrell was sought after for charges including dangerous driving, two counts of evading police, possession of stolen property, and resisting arrest.
