The St. John’s downtown will be taken over by ghouls and zombies this weekend, as Neighbourhood Dance Works hosts its first-ever Zombie Fest.
Outreach Coordinator with Neighbourhood Dance Works, Laura-Beth Power, affectionately known as the Zombie Queen, says the festival is a natural extension of their hugely popular fundraising Zombie Grams and flash-mob Thriller dance performances.
She says this year they’re expanding their fundraiser with a Zombie Festival. It involves flash-mob recruitment, and learning the Thriller dance.
She says veteran Thriller dancers will also be coming out to join in the fun, but she jokes they’re especially interested in less experienced dancers who are willing to learn.
“The more awkward your dance moves the better,” she laughs.
Those who want to participate can contact Neighbourhood Dance Works. Zombie Fest will take place in the downtown between 5:30 and 8:30 tomorrow evening and again on Saturday from 1:30 to 4:30.
