Communities along the Eastport Peninsula are gearing up for the second annual Damnable Trail Festival.
The event aims to connect people by retracing the paths of some of the province’s first settlers, noting that many of their walking trails are developed from old walking trails and hauling paths.
One of the main attractions is the Coastal Ridge Challenge, which takes participants 22 kilometers across several coastal communities.
Race Director Karen Saunders says this year they capped participation at 50 people this year, with tickets selling out within 24 hours.
Saunders shared that runners start in Salvage and travel through communities such as Happy Adventure, before crossing three beaches to end at Northside Beach in Eastport.
The festival runs from September 22 to September 24, with a kickoff event at Chuff’s Bight Park in Sandringham, which will include live music, food and games.
