Three people have been sent to hospital following a noon-time collision on the Trans-Canada Highway near Whitbourne.
The local volunteer fire department says multiple lanes were reduced as a result of the two-vehicle crash, which has since been cleared up.
Injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
It occurred shortly after noon on the busy section of highway in front of the former Monty’s Place.
Fire Chief Jamie Budden said the situation was compounded by heavy rainfall which continues to come “in waves.”
Budden is urging drivers to slow down to avoid hydroplaning in the area, where the speed limit is 70 kilometres an hour.
