A Bunyan’s Cove man has been charged after police say a significant amount of cash, contraband tobacco, and firearms were seized from his vehicle and home.
Forty-four-year-old Murley Tucker was first pulled over in Botwood on Tuesday as part of an ongoing investigation by the RCMP.
Officers seized a large amount of cash and contraband tobacco, and Murley was arrested.
A later search of the man’s home resulted in the seizure of three “unsafely stored” firearms, more cash and tobacco, and other items consistent with trafficking.
In total, police seized over $82,000 in cash, more than 23 cases of contraband tobacco, and three long guns.
Tucker has been released from custody and is due back in court in Clarenville on Dec. 21.
He is facing numerous charges related to unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of the proceeds of crime, possession of unstamped tobacco, and possession of contraband tobacco.
