Three people are facing drug-related charges following a traffic stop on the province’s west coast.
The Deer Lake RCMP pulled a vehicle over in Deer Lake on August 31 as part of an ongoing investigation conducted by the RCMP-RNC Joint Forces Operation West.
Three people, 50-year-old Gary Campbell of Irishtown-Summerside, 28-year-old Tanner Healey of Deer Lake and 27-year-old Bianca Williams of Corner Brook were arrested at the time.
Police say a search of the vehicle and occupants resulted in the seizure of a quantity of crack cocaine, cash and other items consistent with drug-trafficking. A large knife was also located and seized.
All three have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. Bianca Williams faces an additional charge of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failing to comply with a release order.
The accused have been released to attend court at a later date. The investigation continues.
