RCMP have confirmed they’re investigating a suspicious death on the west coast of the island.
A woman’s body was discovered at a home on Upper Nicholsville Road in Deer Lake earlier today.
Residents can expect to see more police activity in the area as the investigation continues.
But RCMP say there’s no general threat to public safety.
The investigation is being led by the Mounties’ major crime unit, with support from Forensic Identification Services, General Investigation Section, Police Dog Services and the Deer Lake detachment.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is also on the case.
