RCMP officers nabbed a number of impaired drivers over the past weekend.
Two drivers were stopped in Carbonear and Bonavista last Friday. The driver from Carbonear blew almost two-and-a-half times the legal limit, while the Bonavista driver refused the test.
Shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Bay St. George RCMP were tipped off about a disturbance involving a suspected impaired driver. Officers arrested the 50-year-old at his house in West Bay.
On Sunday, two drivers were caught. The first was arrested after leaving the Port aux Basques Marine Atlantic Ferry Terminal, blowing three-and- a-half times the legal limit. The second was caught after striking an ATV with his car near Bonavista. The 67-year-old driver blew above the legal limit and was arrested.
All five drivers lost their vehicles and had their licences suspended.
