Preparations are underway as the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival approaches.

There are a number of new developments for the 34th installment of the festival, one of the biggest being the festival’s new home at the Majestic Theatre.

Executive Director Jenn Brown says the driving force behind the move was ensuring the highest quality exhibition for the films.

She says they need to make sure they are presented as best as they can be. She says the Majestic also provided an opportunity to support the community, and help people fall in love with cinema.

The festival takes place October 17 to October 21.
