A Cupids man has been charged following a pair of break-in’s in the Bay Roberts area early Thursday morning.
Around 3:45 a.m., RCMP were notified of multiple alarms activated at the Baccalieu Pharmacy in South River.
A police dog searched the area and found items stolen from the business, but the suspect was not located.
While police were investigating at the pharmacy, reports starting coming in of another break in—this time at a convivence store in Brigus.
When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect was still inside the store and attempted to make a run for it. The canine stepped in and prevented the man from getting away.
Twenty-year-old Jacob Gonzalez of Cupids appeared in court on Thursday on charges of break and enter, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
