It’s a pleasant Friday on the island but things go south on the weekend with a steady rainfall.
The water starts coming down in the morning in the south, then spreads throughout by lunchtime. As well, the winds are going to pick up.
Rob Carroll, meteorologist with the Gander Weather Office, says the area east of and including Gander will tally about 30mm by the end of the weekend but for west and south of Gander it’s a different story.
The south coast, central Newfoundland, west coast and even the Northern Peninsula could see some 40-80mm through the weekend with parts of the south and southwest getting closer to 100mm.
