Foote has had a long and storied career, having previously worked in television, and as the Director of Communications for former Premier Clyde Wells.
She was elected as the Liberal MP for Random-Burin-St. Georges in 2008 and served as Minister of Public Services and Procurement until she took a leave of absence for personal reasons in 2017.
She was installed as Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador in May of 2018.
Former MHA and provincial cabinet minister Joan Marie Aylward will be installed as Foote’s successor in a ceremony tomorrow at the House of Assembly.
