The housing minister would have liked to see more housing developments proposed for Labrador as part of the Affordable Housing Program RFP, but is overall pleased with the breakdown per region.
Over 900 new units have been successful in the proposal process, the results of which were announced last week. However, of those 922 units, only 15 are set for Labrador, all in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
Minister Paul Pike says they are happy that they are able to reach all areas of the province with the program.

He says they would have liked to see more in Labrador, but he expects with the new five-point plan, there will be a shift in interest the next time the call goes out.
As for when that call will be is yet to be determined.
He says they are hoping to do another round of funding at some point, as the province needs more affordable rental housing. He says they are looking to build as many units as they can over the next few years.
