The PC Party has opened nominations for candidates to fill the upcoming vacancy in Conception Bay East-Bell Island.
MHA and former PC Leader David Brazil is stepping down December 29 after representing the district for 14 years.
Nominations are now open and will close this Friday at noon.
Portugal Cove-St. Philips Councillor Tina Neary has already announced her intention to offer herself for the nomination.
Last week there were heavy hints that former broadcast journalist and senior advisor to Premier Andrew Furey, Fred Hutton is considering a run for the Liberal nod.
