Over $11,500 and counting has been raised during the annual Dial-A-Carol fundraiser in support of the VOCM Cares Foundation.

Phones were ringing off the hook on Sunday afternoon with an outpouring number of donations and requests for Christmas carols in memory of loved ones.

Sonya Smith, Executive Director of the VOCM Cares Foundation, sends her thanks to the donors and supporters, including the Newfoundland Growlers and NAPE who sponsored power hours throughout the afternoon.

All money raised will go towards various VOCM Cares initiatives, including the Happy Tree.

The impact of donations will be felt across the province as Smith says they plan to make Happy Tree donations to various branches of the Salvation Army.

Donations to the Happy Tree can be made online or at the Lululemon Court at the Avalon Mall.
