Former St. John’s city councillor Jonathan Galgay is on the move again.
Galgay resigned as chief administrative officer for the Town of Placentia three months ago to “pursue other opportunities.”
He takes on the same role with the Town of Stephenville, effective today.
Galgay’s single term on St. John’s council ended in 2017, moving on to various federal, provincial, public and private sector positions. But he says it’s the groundwork laid and experience gained in Placentia, specifically with wind, that won Stephenville over.
“It positions me to be in a very good, and very familiar territory for what’s to come for them, and to know that is certainly an advantage,” he said. “And you can reference this by going to the mayor and council about the decision of why they have appointed me to this position.”
Galgay also briefly served as CAO for the Town of Twillingate before joining Placentia in late 2021.
