Opposition health critic Barry Petten is concerned with the implications of a recent government contract to a US-based company to provide virtual health services for a two-year period.
Petten wants to know, with millions of dollars at stake, why the province did not consult with those directly affected by the decision.
He also asks whether virtual care is a viable option for seniors in rural areas with complex medical needs.
“Who will order the follow-up tests and review them?” Petten wants to know.
