The City of St. John’s is reopening the bathrooms at Bannerman Park.
This comes after pushback on the city’s decision to close the bathrooms due to damage and safety concerns. Portable toilets have just been delivered to the area for residents of the tent city at Colonial Building, with at least one being provided by NAPE.
With resources from the provincial government, including increased cleaning and security, the bathrooms will be open 24-hours a day as of Saturday, December 2 at 4:00 p.m.
Thursday, the provincial government, City of St. John’s, and community organizations announced a Homelessness Task Force.
