The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has confirmed the death of an inmate at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary.
The 35-year-old man was taken to hospital where died overnight Friday. No further details have been released.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been called in to determine the cause of death.
In a statement, the Department of Justice and Public Safety send condolences to the family, staff and fellow inmates at the penitentiary.
