The Public Utilities Board has approved Newfoundland Power’s 2024 capital budget application, however, it’s $1 million less than what was proposed.
The PUB says that reflects the reductions the board ordered with respect to three proposed projects. Details on the board’s rationale will be released in the coming weeks.
The PUB previously dismissed the Consumer Advocate’s request for oral hearings on Newfoundland Power’s Capital Budget application.
Newfoundland Power has a separate General Rate Application before the Board, proposing two rate increases—one in July and the other next year.
A pre-hearing conference on that application is scheduled for February 1.
