World Energy GH2 has submitted its amended Environmental Impact Statement to government for its project on the southwest coast.
The provincial government was supposed to make a decision on the controversial wind-hydrogen proposal last fall. However, Environment Minister Bernard Davis said more information was needed, and asked the company to amend the document and resubmit.
The province says the new environmental Impact Statement was submitted to them yesterday.
Now, a 70-day review period will begin. The deadline for public comment is March 20, and Minister Davis’ decision is due by April 9.
Copies of the amendment will available at the public libraries in Bay St. George South, Cape St. George, Lourdes, St. George’s, Stephenville, Stephenville Crossing and Upper Ferry (Codroy Valley). Copies will also be available at the World Energy GH2 Community Office in Stephenville.
