Newfoundlanders and Labradorians will be heading to the polls three times in the coming year.
Federal and provincial elections are expected this year, while municipal elections are set for October 2nd.
Normally, municipal elections are held on September 30th, but voting day has been deferred to October 2nd this year to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
New this year will be the ability for residents of local service districts to cast ballots as well.
The change came about as a result of the new Towns and Local Service Districts Act, which comes into effect today.
