NAPE has joined in on the calls for the Auditor General to investigate all contracts at the Health Authority following revelations about large amounts of money being paid out for travel nurses.
The Registered Nurses Union held a rally at Confederation Building yesterday calling for the same.
Health Minister Tom Osborne has instead opted to ask the Comptroller General to look into the situation.
NAPE President Jerry Earle reveals that he has written AG Denise Hanrahan and “demanded” that she look into the situation.
While Earle applauds the Comptroller General being brought in, he notes that they have never looked into a situation involving public sector workers before.
