A fundraiser is being held at Broderick’s Pub on George Street this weekend in support of a mainstay in the local entertainment industry

According to a post on Facebook, Yvonne Steiner was travelling to Yellowknife when she had a medical emergency, resulting in her being rushed to Edmonton where she underwent emergency brain surgery.

She remains in ICU and will have to stay in Edmonton for four to six weeks.

Broderick’s Pub has organized a fundraiser for this Sunday to help ease the financial burden on the family.

There will be live entertainment from noon to 10 p.m. featuring 17 acts including the St. Pats Dancers – a group in which Steiner is heavily involved, The Masterless Men, and Irish Descendants.

Tickets are $25 at the door, donations are also being accepted through email, caitlyn@brodericksongeorge.ca, with the message of “For Yvonne”
