Truckers are upset with Marine Atlantic, saying their announcements on scheduling changes don’t match up with the information on the website.

Akita Equipment says they pulled trucks out of the lineup this morning because of cancellations.

Akita says Marine Atlantic’s schedule said one thing, but an email came out suggesting something different. The trucking company called to confirm what was what, but was told there is another vessel coming in to service the run.

Akita says it’s struggling to be an efficient or even an effective carrier because of the missed sailings and scheduling confusion.

A new vessel will be pressed into service in June, and Akita hopes the threshold for wind will be greater than that which now exists.
